I don't know if any of the European Doctor Who fans on my FL have noticed, but Captain Jack (or at least the actor who plays him!) is in the ITV programme 'Dancing on Ice' (Like 'Strictly Come Dancing' on ice). And he is very, very good. If I was a betting wombat I'd have me a fiver on him to win.

Date: 21/01/2006 08:33 pm (UTC)Not exactly sure since Dr. Who's first season won't be shown over here until March or May, but I think said actor had a role in the film version of the musical remake of "The Producers.
That is an incredibly clumsy sentence.
If it was him he had one of the funniest songs and one that was in the original movie, 'Springtime for Hitler'.
Take care of the thumb and cat.

Date: 21/01/2006 08:58 pm (UTC)Thumb now fine apart from slightly numb bit and a catchy bit of skin (as in on things, rather than doing a chorus of the above-mentioned song!)
Cat has gone upstairs to help the daughter with her studying - he does this by either lying on her bed (fine) or by attempigt to lie on the paper she is writing on, or the keyboard if she is using her computer! The length of time since he went upstairs, without him arriving back again accompanied by the sound of a closing door, implies today it is the bed option.
(PS - I am doing a little Xander fill-in piece from between 'News From Heaven' and 'Ten Years After' just now - your comment set me off on it.)

Scary.

Wonderful to read about your Xander story. S2C's latest shows a marvelous understanding for how the charater might have matured if given a chance coupled with distance from the Slayer.
Have fun writing.

Date: 22/01/2006 04:33 pm (UTC)Yes, I think Andy Peters will be pleased to have been voted out last night. My bet is on Gaynor Faye for next week, she doesn't look comfortable out there at all, poor thing, or maybe Kellie Holmes, the judges don't seem to like her. (And another John Barrowman piece of trivia - he presented one series of the children's show 'Live and Kicking' with Andy Peters and Emma Forbes).
The singing thing is on BBC1 just before 6.00 (but not on next week but the week after). Bit of a mixed bag of singers (David and Carrie Grant, Mica Paris, some boy who used to be in Steps, and Ruthie Henshall and JB), plus a guest host who sings as well. JB also does a bit of backstage chat. You can tell who has put the time in in musical theatre though.

Date: 22/01/2006 05:37 pm (UTC)Ways away off the subject but need opinion.
Date: 22/01/2006 08:10 pm (UTC)Do the authors have any IDEA how bad this makes Buffy and Angel appear? That story that I mentioned awhile ago over at S2C's LJ is pretty much a satire of this concept. I'm not certain I can write it now as most of these pieces satirize themselves.
In these worlds I'm glad that Buffy and Angel get together for I would never wish either of them on my worst enemy.
Anyway, would anyone be able to suggest who might be considered a victim of either Buffy or Angel, romantic or otherwise. My little ditty is a response to this leaky ship and I could sure use some help.
Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Re: Ways away off the subject but need opinion.
Date: 23/01/2006 12:44 pm (UTC)Xander could well be seen as a victim of his fascination with Buffy - although there is the distinct possibility that without him becoming part of the Slayer's inner circle he would have not survived high school. But without Buffy, had he survived, he would not have met Anya, would probably have been in a relationship with A.N Other by now, complete with two functional eyes.
But for most of the cast of both series people are both victim and beneficiary - Cordelia would have died four years or so before she ended up in the coma if Angel hadn't saved her from a vampire, and so on.

Date: 23/01/2006 02:50 pm (UTC)It was the first ever musical I'd seen in the West End, and so holds an even more special place in my heart. I was completely entranced by the whole thing, and JB was amazing. Interestingly, the other male lead was Peter Polykarpou, who later turned up as one of the husbands in Birds of a Feather. He had an amazing singing voice too.
