The second part of the post of my daughter's pictures of Sark are below the cut. They feature the garden of the Seigneurie, the traditional home of the feudal lord of the island. There are a couple of lovely pictures. You can tell it has been a nice autumn down in the Channel Islands when you look at the pictures and remember she took them on 6th October.

Sark - the island, not the state of being!

Sark is another Channel Island less than an hour by sea from Guernsey, and D-d visited it one Sunday a few weeks ago. It is renowned for having no cars or motorbikes, only tractors are allowed - which leads to some interesting use of tractors...

I have some more pictures of Sark which will appeal to my friends who also, like me, enjoy a good gateway - or an interesting garden. But I will leave them for now and post them in a day or two.

A couple of weekends ago D-d visited Victor Hugo's house on Guernsey. It is only open for the summer season, and it was the last day of opening, so she braved heavy rain as she had been told it was well worth the visit.

All I can say about it is that she thought the people who had told her that were absolutely right - and when I saw the pictures I was quite envious.
