Welcome to my new laptop! It is rather pretty, and weighs much less than the old one. It has a hard-drive the size of Belgium - most of which is like virgin snow at the moment as almost everything is on the old hard-drive. But I now have the old hard-drive in a caddy plugged into this pretty new pooter - how useful is that? Although some files are still not identified - like 'Old e-mails I need to keep'which is somewhere on the old drive labelled with a string of numbers, or my bookmarked file for the net, which is apparently another file with no name only a string of numbers. However my wonderful husband is really good at sorting all that out for me, so I should be able to get at most things from the old one. Also new pooter has a very clear wide screen, and slightly bigger keys, although my fingers don't quite find them all easily yet!

Link to info and picture of pretty new laptop!

Also my thumb is healing nicely, although still wrapped up and a bit tender!

I wonder if I have a coat of arms?

You do! It counts as a Scottish surname and not only has a coat of arms, but two tartans as well. My husband isn't Scottish but some member of the family may have come from there years ago, or at least, so J's grandfather claimed. We both count ourselves as English though.

right down to the piles of books laying around, waiting to be read. :-)

LOL. I'm not sure if that's genetic or a disease *g*.

book disease

It's genetic. Writing -- now, THAT'S a disease, and once you've caught the bug, it's incurable. And fanfiction writing is like the drug resistant flesh eating disease, because you just can't shake it.

I'll have to get one of those coats of arms one day -- as long as I don't have to wear a kilt. I don't have the legs for it.

I have to go, my work shift's almost over (it's 6 a.m. here), but I hope you don't mind if I Friend you. Anyone with your name, interests and tartans is someone worth knowing. :-)

Fanfiction reading is pretty similar *g*. Fortunately for me, or everyone else, I've never caught the writing bug.

I hope you don't mind if I Friend you.

Friend away and I'll friend you right back.

Hey, friend

I caught the writing bug before I was old enough to really write -- I talked my mother into typing out a story based on the Oz books while I dictated. I haven't been able to go a week without writing something, since.

My next project is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Gilmore Girls crossover, which will be a humorous piece (I hope).
