Welcome to my new laptop! It is rather pretty, and weighs much less than the old one. It has a hard-drive the size of Belgium - most of which is like virgin snow at the moment as almost everything is on the old hard-drive. But I now have the old hard-drive in a caddy plugged into this pretty new pooter - how useful is that? Although some files are still not identified - like 'Old e-mails I need to keep'which is somewhere on the old drive labelled with a string of numbers, or my bookmarked file for the net, which is apparently another file with no name only a string of numbers. However my wonderful husband is really good at sorting all that out for me, so I should be able to get at most things from the old one. Also new pooter has a very clear wide screen, and slightly bigger keys, although my fingers don't quite find them all easily yet!

Link to info and picture of pretty new laptop!

Also my thumb is healing nicely, although still wrapped up and a bit tender!

This is a lot more portable than the previous one. The caddy thing to make the hard-drive from the old one into an external drive for the new one is very neat, and not expensive. It is a 'Sweex 2.5 mobile storage solution' - well at least that's what it says on the front of it!

I don't understand most of those numbers -- just that bigger is, generally, better.
But I do understand the portability thing. The hinge on my laptop broke, and the screen stopped working after that, so I hooked it to a monitor. For all intents and purposes, it's a desktop, now. *sob* My daughter has loaned me her iBook, but it's older than dirt.

I was using one like that at my friend's house when I was on Skye - if it had been something that could have been solved that way with the old one I would have done the same thing - but it was no longer capable of getting any power into the actual computing bit, it had become the Norwegian Blue of computers! (If you've never met that Monty Python sketch the reference may be lost on you!)

The reference is lost on me, but I get the point in context. :-)
