Having a lazy evening yesterday, while husband-person was at work, and daughter-dear at a party, and so I was catching up on some back reading, and I must just say thanks to ezagaaikwe for 'The Heart And Soul Of You', which was wonderful. I'm now having a lazy day to follow, so I might catch up on some more reading, although as S2C has bought me Sims2 (with only a few hints dropped) for my birthday, and we are going out for a meal tonight, I may not get a lot of reading done!
Oh, and guess what? Daughter-dear made me a birthday cake! We had it after lunch. This may not sound like a very big deal, but as my birthday is so close to Christmas I rarely get a cake, as everyone reckons there's enough cake around anyway. S2C was once reminded in time, by what was then a small daughter, to get me one from Marks & Spencer, but this is the only other birthday cake since. Not that I'm bitter or anything! And he did get me a VERY BIG card!

Date: 29/12/2004 12:52 am (UTC)Oh, my God, you read that luridly blue, turgid, overwrought fic o' mine?! Meep! I'm turning every shade of red. My latest one is much better, if I do say so myself and shouldn't.

Date: 29/12/2004 11:05 am (UTC)Tell sons it is practical science! These days in my daughter's school cookery comes under the Technology Department. Although actually Wombat Junior learnt to make cakes when very small, it was just a fun thing to do on wet Sunday afternoons, cheap and with an edible outcome (well usually). My Mum is a cook, and when it was my daughter's first Christmas, 8 - 9 months old, I remember my Mum having her sitting in a high chair with a piece of pastry and a mini rolling pin so that she could 'help' making mince pies!
