I have ten minutes peace. Presents wrapped, red cabbage chopped and simmering, cake decorated by D-d, and a shepherd's pie in the oven for tea before we go to the 6.30 pm service at Church.

In Sunday School we finished telling the Christmas Story, made paper chains, and made cinnamon cookies!

Now I am just sitting here looking at the decorations, and all the lights (we use low energy bulbs all year around, then light up the room with so many lights that I think we use all the power we've saved). And I thought you might like to share -

Putting up cards - look carefully and you might spot her usual assistant...

The front window -

The tree -

The shelves over the TV -

And the close-up - showing even Predators can get in the swing of the season -

This is the mantelpiece -

Her is one of the nativity sets - we bought this one when we couldn't find the one we had had since D-d was tiny. The infant Jesus will only go into place tomorrow.

Then in time for the next Christmas we found the old set - so now we have two - this one came from a 'Pound Shop', and is actually only plastic, but it looks good -

Oh these are the flowers on the end of the hearth -

The Santa music box -

And the Santa lantern on the hearth -

Finally one of the glass bowls that D-d filled -

So that's us looking festive!

I might be around tomorrow, but Merry Christmas, or whatever you are celebrating, to all my friends, and thanks again for all the cards and e-cards.

That looks so amazing!

I love the lights in the front window, they're gorgeous. I mean, everything is, but I especially like the window.

Also, playing "find the cat" in the first picture was fun. Is that red strip normally there, or is it some sort of awesome Christmas card tape?

Hi! Thank you - I like the window as well, those are my newest lights.

The red strip is a card grip strip - it adheres to the wall, and the cards adhere to it - but it isn't actually 'sticky' so it just peels off again afterwards.

I like the idea of a card grip strip. I wonder if it would work on our oddly lumpy walls.

Ours aren't exactly perfect walls - but on the bumpiest bits the cards do tend to fall off occasionally!
