Thanks so much! It's hot, muggy, and I spent much the 23rd dealing with really clueless residents. But I'm off tonight, and it's improved tremendously!

Junior doctors can sometimes make you want to prod them very hard with a pointy stick!

I'm just curious-- do all the new residents/ junior doctors in your part of the world start in July? They do here, and combining that with a high acuity makes me want to pound my head against the wall! "If we keep changing things randomly surely something will work". ARRGG!

sharp sticks have a lot of possibilities, too...

Yep - end of July, the most junior ones have done their five years at medical school, and have to do their year as a junior houseman before becoming actual doctors. And the ones who were junior housemen last year are ready to move up into senior houseman jobs, last year's senior housemen are ready to become junior registrars - and you only spend a year in each of your registrar jobs for the first three or four years, so you move at the end of each year....which is always the end of July!

Total chaos, and the only people at ground level who have any idea what is going on, and how things work 'around here' are the nursing staff. It's obviously the same world-wide!

I'm not sure if I find that comforting or really, really scary! :)

I don't want anybody to question my manliness, but I have to say how much I love your little chibi Sailor Moon. I've got a little Sailor Mercury just like that on my keyring, thanks to my daughter's early fascination with the show ... and yet hardly anyone makes fun of me.

Thanks! I'll pass that on to Jillian, too -- she'll really love it.

Oh dear...I need to discover all the birthdays I missed and address them one by one.

Speaking of missing.....Congratulations to you on Ten Years After winning at the Fang Fetish Awards! The story IS a winner, nice to see it made official.

Love,
Kathleen
