Memes - iidiosyncrasies and guilty pleasures.

dalmeny tagged me for a meme last week, which was about my idiosyncrasies - and it has taken me a while to think about them - but in the meantime pfeifferpack tagged me for another one - which helpfully provides a little form to fill in!


So - idiosyncrasies first -

I have a footwear related one, as did dalmeny, I own a number of pairs of shoes - some quite smart ones - but I usually go straight from sandals and bare legs in the summer to boots in the winter with no in-between stage - therefore never really wearing any of the shoes.

I own a mobile phone - and never quite get the hang of needing to charge it up - even though I also carry one for work, which I charge regularly.

I firmly believe that wheat flour made into cakes and only eaten at the weekend will not trigger off my gluten intolerance.

I don't really believe that planes should be able to stay up there - even though I understand the physics behind it.

I get all flustered about tagging people for memes, in case they either find it an imposition or in case other people get annoyed because I haven't tagged them! So I usually don't choose anyone, or I choose them totally at random by wandering across my FL with my mouse and my eyes shut, and tag whover it lands on!

And now for the guilty pleasures one, which had to have 'tagged people' for the form to work - guess how you got tagged, taggees! -

Guilt	What is yours?	Explain yourself
Culinary:	Cream cakes	When I lived alone I always bought myself two, on the groundsI felt that people would think I was a fat pig buying a cake to eat all on my own! Then of course I'd eat both!
Literary:	The serial in My Weekly	My Weekly is definitely a 'late middle-aged ladies' magazine - not the sort of thing you want to admit to reading - but I am more addicted to their serial than to any TV programme!
Audiovisual:	Dancing on Ice	It's total kitsch, but it is also the only reality TV thing I've actually watched for more than five minutes - and I record it if it looks as though I'll miss it.
Musical:	I know the words to too many rather naff songs of the seventies and eighties	Self explanatory I'd guess!
Celebrity:	Given the choice between James Marsters and Jan Zelezny I'd pick Zelezny - even though I have trouble spelling his name.	James Marsters might be a sexy Spike - but Zelezny is sex in spikes!

I'll join you in knowing far too many lyrics to 70/80s songs! My kids used to get confused that I knew them when they were rereleased (and not half so good) by 'modern' bands..... OMG I'm turning into my mother (eeeek!).

Who is Jan Zelezny?

My mother never seems to have got past 'The Big Band' sound, or possibly a bit of Val Doonican - I hope I don't turn into her!

Jan Zelezny is a Czech - the greatest javelin thrower of all time, World champion, Olympic champion, World record holder - and, IMHO, sex on legs - unlike Steve Backley! Never heard of Jan Zelezny either but YUM! Lovely, you have wonderful taste.

I know those lyrics too (not only pop and rock but country western too)...gaaahhhh.
