So here is my five minutes worth on the subject of wombats:
Wombats are marsupials – this means that they are pouched mammals. They are amongst the world's largest burrowing mammals; they live in burrows, and eat roots and leaves, and are mainly nocturnal.
There are three types of wombat – the common wombat, the Southern hairy nosed wombat, and the Northern hairy nosed wombat. All three species are now classed as endangered species. Wombats are natives of Australia, and they are not renowned for their agility.
My husband has called me wombat for many years, as I am not renowned for my agility either. On one of the earliest episodes of ‘It’ll be Alright on the Night’ an actor in an Australian series about a vet was seen putting a wombat down on an examination table, and turning away. The actress in the scene with him says ‘Are you sure he’ll be safe there?’ and as the actor is saying ‘He’ll be just fine’, the wombat can be seen behind him plummeting off the edge of the table! It has been my nick-name ever since!
Wombats are so synonymous with Australia that the first ever Australian search engine is known as Web Wombat.
That is all - I don't type very fast!
And for any of my friends who wants a go - the challenge words for anyone who chooses to accept are - Christmas or Hannukah or winter!

Merry Christmas!
