Well - I've never been involved in any of the memes or special days on LJ right from the start - but this one I am, because it was half my idea - mine and frimfram's.

December 4th is Live Journal Where I Live Day.

This is a day where we want as many people on LJ as possible to post pics of - wait for it - where they live. Anything from one or two to twenty - it's up to you! Frimfram has written a long post - giving details of how to post pics if you've never done it before, and giving some suggestions of 'things to snap' if you need ideas - read it here - http://www.livejournal.com/users/frimfram/42091.html?#cutid1

You don't have to give away where you live if you don't want to - post a couple of difficult to spot pics, but for most of us it is a chance to get some ideas about places we have never been. If you don't have any way of putting pics on your journal you could just link to a few pics on line!

Frimfram wonders would you rather put the pics on your own journals, or have a community for it? Let her or I know.

Now go and spread the word via your journal so that your friends can also join in - lets see how far we can get those ripples across this enormous LJ pond!

Hey, that's a neat idea! A community would be awesome because, that way, it would be easier to find everybody's w.i.l.d. pictures. You know, one nice, concentrated area, to go look at everybody's stuff. Anyway, that's just my two cents.

Thanks - I think we may well go the community way, it would make it easier to see them, you are quite right. It should be fun, make a change from the Christmas shopping, but be close enough that people can put pictures of their town decorated up!

I was going to put pics up today, anyway, so the three up now are preview; doing it in a community would be cool, though.

4th is a Sunday? Will be there with bells on.

Yep - I thought a Sunday would be good, and Frimfram agreed, so Sunday it is. a community seems to be getting everyone's vote - I'm hoping Frim will set it up!!!

I love the idea. A community would be fun, to keep them all together - otherwise you only see your flist...

I think a community it will be - and as we thought doing it again in Spring was cool, the community would be all set up and ready to go. I'm hoping Frimfram knows how to set one up!

I love the idea of a community for this! Looking forward to Dec. 4. (As slowly as my dial-up service loads photos, it'll take me that long to get my shots into Photobucket. ;) )

What a neat idea! I think a community would be a great central meeting place for this. I think I'll get my camera ready..pretty soon the Christmas lights will be going up on the houses around here.

Hi - the community is up and running at wild_photos - last time I looked there were 40+ participants - it should be really good!
