curiouswombat: (Shiny!)

Congratulations to everyone who is mentioned in the results for The Tree and Flower Awards. I have shiny things! Rather an embarrassment of shiny things. A really big thank you not just to those who nominated and voted for my stories, but to everyone who participated in any way - without people to run them, to nominate stories, to read and vote, awards schemes just cease to exist.

For those of you haven't heard of them, they are 'by nomination and vote' annual awards for stories posted at Many Paths to Tread which is a small, well run, Tolkien specific site - and the winners lists(Posted on MPtT's sister LJ community) make a very, very, good reading list.

I post mainly my drabble sets there, and am really pleased that many of them have done so very well against some excellent, and often much longer, stories.

Tree and Flower Awards, Men, First Place

For First Spring - I was so happy about that - I have such a soft spot for Osred, Grandmother, and the rest of the family.

Tree and Flower Awards, Drabble, First Place

For A Year in the Walled Garden - and I also got

Tree and Flower Awards, Drabble, Third Place

For Family Ties!

Tree and Flower Awards, Humor, Second Place

For Cautionary Tales for Little Hobbits.

Tree and Flower Awards, Gandalf, Second Place

For Learning Process.

And last, but not least -

Tree and Flower Awards, Legolas, First Place

For The Making of an Heirloom.

Thank you! I do think the drabble sets sometimes win against much longer works purely because they are short and so can be easily read if you don't recognise everything in the category!

Thank you. It is a fairly small community - but it is still really nice to be told you are doing a good job!

Thank you. I lost track of who did which banners - I'm hoping I won a mixture of yours and the winter-witch's ones!

Thank you. All of these are due to the prompts at Tolkien Weekly, of course - so thank you, too!

Thank you. I feel a bit big-headed putting them here, but I see it as a way of pointing out the archive to people!

Congrats, very well done. Btw, this was the first time I read A Year in the Walled Garden and I loved it! (need to get back there and leave a comment)

Thank you. I'm really glad you enjoyed A Year in the Walled Garden - I rather enjoyed visualising them in that place that I had visited in real life.

Thank you. I think the current prompts would suit Osred and his family - I just haven't quite got a handle on it yet...

Ah, I finally have had the time to read the Cautionary Tales. (Apparently my husband is a very good little hobbit!) Very fun and funny. I quite enjoyed them. I thought of the three little pigs and the wolf blowing down the straw house - but of course OZ is much more being nodded to. Thanks for sharing!
