I hope all those who celebrate this weekend have had the weekend you would have wished for yourselves.

I attended church on Maundy Thursday, D-d went to church on Good Friday, but I have to admit to being tardy that morning, but she and I went out for lunch and spent the rest of the day together. Saturday was a Saturday, and church this morning was full, joyous and, because of my involvement with the children, also included celebratory iced shortbread and some chocolate.

D-d came up home for her Easter Dinner - and I roasted a very nice leg of pork and opened a bottle of wine - there will be cold pork aplenty tomorrow as well.

I have two very nice Easter Eggs - and that is about it.

Except that D-d pointed out this advert to me, and even though it is 2 years old, how can you go wrong with Football, Messi, and meerkats?

Happy Easter!

And IMO you just can't have enough meerkats.

Thank you - and as for the meerkats, I love the way they hold their wee paws in front of their 'bits' like proper footballers!

Thank you - and it is rather good roast pork, even though I say so myself - I've just had a little for supper.

Isn't it? Messi is, as you might have guessed, probably the world's greatest footballer playing right now.

A fun advert, and it seems as if you have had a lovely Holy Week. Wonderful!

You really can't go wrong with a ball, the world's best footballer, and some meerkats!

The sorrows of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are for the adults, I feel, the celebration of Easter Sunday is for the children too. And we stress, with the smaller ones, that it is a celebration - hence letting them loose with a pile of shortbread, the icing, and the sugar decorations to make celebratory food to share!

Aahhh, what we miss here in the States. :-) Thanks for sharing that.

Easter blessing to you and your family.

Aahhh, what we miss here in the States. :-)

The rest of the world have given up trying to tell you that your guys just need to take off all the cissy stuff and realise that what they play is rugby. Then get to understand that there is a great beauty in rugby - and an even greater one in football! I mean, come on, what could be better than the world's greatest footballer, a ball, and some meerkats? :~)

I do hope that you had a good Easter weekend, too.

This year, I didn't buy sweets, and I gave the chocolate egg my SIL gave me to my son. Other than one bite of cheesecake, I was able to leave the sweets alone. Knowing that sugar spikes can wipe me out is a great deterrent to indulgence!

Happy Easter!

Such a shame to have to skip the chocolate - never, though, be tempted to eat much 'sugar-free diabetic chocolate' instead - it is one of the best laxatives known to man!

I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend anyway, despite lack of chocolate. Sometimes we have to remember, and remind the small people at church, that the chocolate is not actually the most important bit of it...

I do allow myself squares of dark chocolate--it has less sugar and I like it better. It's not hard for me to give up the Easter eggs for better chocolate!

So true. I have small sacrifices and inconveniences.

Easter - the season of sorrow, celebration... and chocolate!

The ad was just too good not to share.
