A story in the Returnverse. "Dust"

This is the story I wrote for the Tolkien BigBang! It is completed in a prologue and eight chapters - a total of about 27,500 words - illustrated by ellynn_ithilwen. I will post both Prologue and Chapter One tonight as the Prologue is, by the nature of things, short!

The verses at the beginning of each chapter are from the songs of Runrig. Here on my journal I will try, as far as possible, to actually link each one to the song on YouTube so that you can hear it.

I have left the chapter end notes that were written for anyone who had not read the earlier stories.

Summary - Tolkien tells us that, after the death of King Elessar, Legolas built a ship and sailed West, accompanied by Gimli. This is a story of that time, a time of mortal deaths, preparations... and The Key.
