4 Jul 2010 08:03 pmI have been taking pictures for the Where I Live Weekend, next weekend, but there are a few under the cut, either taken by chance, or at the same time as I was taking a picture for Where I Live.
One shows that we had... rain! Which is more than much of the rest of the British Isles has done for a while, and there are another couple to add to my 'When the Boat Comes In' collection - and some wild roses.

Today is another nice day - it was very windy last night - I expected to go out and find that half the pots in the garden had been blown over - but they have all survived, and the wind has died down to 'brisk' so is good for drying - so I have stripped all the cushions and washed the covers - they are blowing in the sunshine. I am sitting in a pile of 'naked' cushions - I can't be bothered getting the spares out, I'll just bring these ones in later and put them straight back on.
D-d is still in Italy. The Con-tiki tour was excellent, she says, and she has made new friends. She was the only European in her group - the rest were all Americans, South Africans, New Zealanders and Aussies. She is now having a few days in a hostel in Rome - which is, her recent text tells me - 'crap'... She is something of an authority on staying in hostels - having done so in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Holland - and all, she reckons, were a lot better than the one in Rome. However - she only does 3 nights there, and I guess she'll survive! She flies back to the UK on Tuesday, and will be home on Thursday - it will be good to see her.
Happy 4th of July to my American friends - I get tomorrow off work as our national day is July 5th...
