26 Jun 2007 04:57 pmI'm off work today - simply to keep my annual leave form tidy! I am going away on the boat tomorrow with the car so that I can drive to York and help Daughter-dear pack her stuff, move most of it to her new house, and bring her and quite a bit of stuff home again on Monday. This required 4 days leave, so I added today to keep it in nice units of 5!
Our weather is breezy - well down-right windy for the time of year, but at least whilst we have had more rain than ever before for June so far, we aren't flooded like so much of mainland Britain. Climate worldwide is most definitely changing - it should be warm and calm with the odd shower in June - not blowing a gale and flooding places, or drought-like as I know it is in parts of the US. Whether you believe that it is a man-made change or not, it is now hard to ignore the fact that weather is becoming exaggerated! Wetter, drier, windier, hotter, cooler; no-one just has totally average weather year-round any more!
Fortunately D-d's part of York is not exactly flooded there are just 10ft wide puddles - actually York is less flooded than it sometimes is, as far as I can tell! Also fortunately it looks as if the parts of Yorkshire badly flooded are all south of my travel-route - sigh of relief!
Anyway, I have been out making sure all my pots in the garden are well-watered, as S2C rarely ever thinks to water them if I am away. I hope most of them survive! Under the cut are a few pictures of what is now in flower -

As I am taking the car with me I will take my laptop, but probably won't be on-line a lot, as
I have to pay by the hour at the hotel!
