Sweet Peas.
9 Aug 2006 11:20 pmI have had three days off work, and apart from having lunch out with my mother, and taking her to the hospital to see her ophthalmologist, I have just been pottering and doing those little things that you keep meaning to do but not quite getting around to. So I have tied up the limb of the rose bush in the front of the house which has drooped almost to ground level, and done the living room carpet with ‘Shake & Vac for fleas’(!). I have cleaned the tiles in the bathroom, and put up the clean shower curtain. I have even made some cards, and sorted out the things that I have put away in the spare bedroom for this autumn’s ‘shoe boxes’.
But I have also spent some time in the back-yard dead-heading and tidying, although not sitting out in the sunshine today – because there wasn’t any – it was drizzly! As I sat in the yard on Monday, the sweet-peas gently scented the air, and I marvelled once again at the link between our sense of smell and memory, as I was wafted back to my childhood.

In other news – I was offline for quite a chunk of yesterday – because the cat had pushed the WLAN switch on my laptop to the off position, and I didn’t realise! Still, at least it was easily solved once S2C pointed out to me that that was the problem!
