Speaker to Customers.
5 Apr 2006 10:25 pmI do love my husband. He has just spent a couple of hours getting the very elderly computer that someone has donated to my Church working so that it can at least go online, and be used to write things.
He did it for me, not the Church, because he doesn't usually come to Church at all. Everyone sees the computer as a resource for the children, but no-one really thought about how to make it a usable resource, once they got a desk, and a phone socket for the modem. And so I have got involved with it as a sort of default - but I can only cope if things work properly first time - if I go to load something, and it doesn't load, I'm pretty stuck.
At home I go 'Help!' and S2C moans at me, tells me how stupid I am, and them makes it all work - and he has given up 2 hours of his last evening off before going back to work, sorting the Church computer out for me in the same way (only even without the moaning!) - he fought valiantly with the ancient modem, and waited patiently whilst it crawled through a series of updates - and he thinks he can find a better keyboard, and a better mouse amongst the spare stuff at home. Oh, and a power cable for the printer, which doesn't seem to have one.
How much I love this man!
