3 Apr 2006 11:37 pmI know exactly what I was doing on this day eighteen years ago, because I was giving birth! Today is Katherine's eighteenth birthday - Daughter-dear is now offically an adult!
I had planned to do a post showing her at various stages over the eighteen years, but didn't have time to scan all the pictures in - maybe later in the week! However the birthday girl and I have just been sitting here looking at her 'first month album', and I would like to share with you a couple of her very first pictures. She has been laughing a lot at these - going 'Look how big my feet were!'
( Look at the feet! )
She is now tall, elegant (IMHO), and with perfectly proportioned feet.
She has had a good day, got some lovely presents, including a state of the art lap-top from S2C, ready for university, and had two birthday cakes! Her friend Jenny had made a carrot cake with 18 candles for all their group of friends to share with their morning coffee, and then we had an official chocolate one with champagne this evening when my sister and her girls came around, eaten to 'Happy Birthday' in hindi, which S2C had downloaded for the occasion! D-d and her friends are going out for a meal on Friday, when they don't have to get up early next morning!
And I might have had a busy day at work, but I'm nowhere near as tired as I was this time eighteen years ago!
