This post is mainly for my UK friends.
I've lost one of my most trusted cookery books - Mary Berry's Fast Cakes.
D-d has jusr rung me up and asked for the recipe for the mincemeat brownies - and I can't find my copy of the book - meep!
Obviously I can go and buy a new one, but probably not for a couple of days. So if anyone has a copy could you possibly pass me on the mincemeat brownie recipe so that I can give it to her?
Update - Lim has solved my problem!

Nightmare! Fast Cakes is essential!
Date: 15/12/2008 10:57 pm (UTC)baking time about 40 minutes
6oz (175g) self-raising flour
2oz (50g) soft margarine
6oz (175g) dark soft brown sugar
1 egg
4 tablespoons mincemeat
Heat the oven to 180 C, gas mark 4. Grease and line with greased greaseproof paper the base of an 8 inch (20cm) sandwich tin.
Put all the ingredients in abowl and beat well for 2-3 minutes until they are well blended. Spread the mixture evenly in the tin and then bake for about 40 minutes until the brownie is firm in the centre and has shrunk from the edges of the tin.
Cool slightly, cut into 12 wedges. Turn out and leave to cool on a wire rack.
