[livejournal.com profile] mefnord sent me a big box full of all sorts of exciting chocolates! Squee!

This is an added 'Thank you' in case there was a problem with the e-mail - I remember one not getting to you before, and would hate you to not know how wonderful you are!

I am sharing them with S2C and D-d. So the whole house is full of Squee!

Funnily enough, although my tummy is sore, and I don't feel like eating, I seem to be able to cope with chocolate.

In other news - today I got a Unicef Christmas catalogue in the post......

No, dear, thank YOU for being so kind!

I didn't check my mail before just now, so I got TWO lovely thank yous - and you're very welcome.

I'm so glad that you like the chocolate. I tried to find something with lots of different kinds of flavour - if you find something you like especially I'd be more than happy to send some more

I think sending any more would be a very bad idea....the speed at which this is being consumed is not good for the waistline of S2C or me, and may sabotage D-d's efforts in the gym all summer!!

Chocolate will cure you. It is medicinal, you know.

This proves my theory: chocolate is God's gift to humanity, and is always a good thing.

YES!!!! Thank you for that great thought. I probably have always believed this but never stated it out loud.

Something (http://community.livejournal.com/icons_inabottle/56448.html) the "Whirlybirds" might find interesting? And I hope you're feeling better today.

christmas catalogues

Last year we received our first christmas catalogue also in August - I'll have to dig it out to check, my daughter made me keep it as a memento of craziness, but I think you may have beat the date on ours. No wonder I always feel rushed - I'm not allowed to be in the time I am now, I have to think about MONTHS in the future!

Do hope you're feeling better - how cool that chocolate went down fine.

I'm feeling much better, thank you.

As for the Christmas catalogue - UNICEF is a really good cause - but by the time I actually do want to think about Christmas I will have mislaid the catalogue - so rather than getting in first giving them a head-start it tends to be a disadvantage. At least around here!

yeh, i don't order for christmas this early, but i do have to admit that if i'm at a garage sale and something catches my eye for a friend, i will pick it up anytime of year.

oo, my daughter just confirmed that the catalogue we got was in early September, so YOU WIN!

The UNICEF Christmas catalogue in August? It boggles the mind, it does. Christmas comes earlier every year it seems...Actually, I used to work at a mall (I don't know if you have those, they're like gigantic indoor marketplaces without the fresh-from-the-farm produce) and on the night of Halloween, even before the stores were fully closed, the maintenance men were putting up Christmas decorations.

Chocolate is love, even the nougat. In fact, I love any type of chocolate as long as it doesn't contain too much coconut or too many nuts. I enjoy dissolving the chocolate on my tongue, and it's hard to do that with hard almonds in the way. I live on chocolate the way Pooh Bear lives on honey. It's a staple of my diet!

hi vilajunkie,

just had to comment on your statement "I live on chocolate the way Pooh Bear lives on honey." this is totally my way of life. i'm working now on keeping it that way without adding to my anxiety (i'm actually worried that i need to cut it out completely, but i refuse!) i guess moderation, but KEEP IT COMING! (oh, and the Pooh Bear reference is just so perfect.)

I liked the idea of Pooh Bear, too. Thus why I mentioned him! Sometimes I do worry I'll eat so much that I won't be able to fit in Rabbit's hole. :) Anyway, the perfect woman is one who will accompany me to a bookstore and talk about our finds over takeaway curry and a tin of assorted chocolates.

You would have enjoyed these very good chocolates - none of them had big bits of nuts in, but there were some very good praline ones.

I saw a lady on TV who really did eat almost nothing but chocolate day in day out, and she seemed to be perfectly healthy on it - somewhat to the annoyance of the 'experts'!

I know I've heard somewhere that chocolate is good for the body. I don't know how, but I do know that it helps depression and the milk in milk chocolate provides calcium.
