Awards and memorials.
22 May 2007 10:58 pmWhen I got home on Sunday and checked all my e-mails I discovered some lovely person(s) had been busy nominating Ten Years After for awards at Serenity on the Hellmouth, and the Shades of Grey Awards. This is to say a very big thank you for the nominations.
Also - I would like to share with you my favourite memorial stone from York Minster. There cannot be many memorial stones that come with references -
This is the memorial stone in question -

And for those who might find it difficult to read here is the part that gives me the giggles -

Daughter-dear said she wasn't that impressed - they didn't give the page number!
I have one or two nice pictures that I took in The Museum Gardens as well - I'll post them later in the week maybe.

Date: 23/05/2007 02:12 am (UTC)I find that memorial utterly hilarious. I wonder if at the time others blinked at it as well, or if it was considered nothing out of the ordinary?

Date: 04/06/2007 06:52 am (UTC)Loved the headstone too....nothing like having your entire obituary recorded in stone (and a free plug for a magazine as well...hum...unpaid advertising!). Too funny.

Date: 04/06/2007 12:12 pm (UTC)I love old graveyards, they have such character (or perhaps they simply have such characters!)...not trite like modern headstones. They have poetry, art, a bit of biography....well worth a read.
