Hmm - so Boots are going to sell Viagra over the counter, without prescription, in three (or was it four?) of their shops – and they are all in Manchester! At £50 ($190ish) for 4 tablets!
What on Earth does this tell us about Manchester?

Date: 12/02/2007 07:00 am (UTC)I'd always assumed it was harder to get OTC in America than in most other places, but I've never researched it. I'm always hearing complaints about our government interfering with release of medications, but that's probably more on the prescription level.

Date: 12/02/2007 08:46 am (UTC)One of the lines we often hear from people is 'Why should we wait for it to be licensed here when it is already cleared in the US?' so if you also hear people moaning that your government is holding drugs up then I guess really both countries are similar!

Are the English as obsessed with 'natural solutions' as the folks over here? A convicted conman can wind up on the NY Times best seller list with a book of supposed remedies, many of which make medical professionals blanch, simply by claiming that they are remedies that "THEY" don't want you to know about.
Sorry about my silence lately, got a new Dell and it's been spending more time in the shop then at home. Makes me wonder how all of those 'Ultimate Computers' that rebel against their human creators would fare after downloading software updates.
Take care.

Date: 12/02/2007 07:19 pm (UTC)We do have a 'natural cures' industry - but I think less of a one than yours sounds. My favourite is a book that you see advertised in the magazines meant for middle-aged and elderly ladies, which promises to tell you how vinegar will cure all your bodily ills, all your household problems, improve the way your car runs, and promote world peace. OK - it may not actually include the world peace line.....
