I can't help feeling that, on the keeping-the-journey-short-and-not-killing-each-other front, they would have been better seeing if anyone in Valimar had a map, and starting off from there!
I wonder what difference Tindómë's spotted in the maps?
I like Legolas' thoughts at the beginning, btw, and the glance between him and Haldir near the end :-)
