Belated pics!

I'm getting later with posting the pictures each week! I spent some of the weekend finishing writing an essay for work - yes, even at my age I am still doing courses and being up-dated. But I find getting it to look right, and with all my references in there also looking just as they are meant to, is harder than the actual content! I guess the writing to length etc. is a skill fairly well honed doing fanfic. But it is now complete, D-d has beta'd it in return for the educational essays of hers I have beta'd over the years (not for content - for typos and understandability!) - all I have to do now is print it and hand it in tomorrow.
Then wait for the results, as this was the last requirement for the course...
D-d has been flat-hunting, and has found somewhere to rent within her budget and within five minutes walk of her office - she gets the keys at the end of the week, and so time will be taken up helping her get her stuff together and getting moved in, over the next couple of weeks. On top of this, she is due to spend Valentine's Day in hospital having her wisdom teeth out... as she said, it's a good job she has no boyfriend right now!
But the pictures reflect none of this - instead there are icicles - and cake.
It was cold at the beginning of last week - in fact it was cold most of the week - and I noticed there were icicles where the water normally ran from the land above this road up in the hills into the roadside ditch.

Aren't they neat?
Then I simply turned around and took a picture down the valley, north towards Ramsey.

Then I looked towards the side of Snaefell and took this picture -

Mainly I took that because of the strange stone walled shape - which I then zoomed in on and cropped when I got home - look;

I'm guessing it has something to do with penning in sheep - maybe sorting them as well... but I really don't know. Any ideas, farming friends?
And now for something completely different. D-d and I went out for a meal on Saturday - S2C was working, and D-d had a short dated money-off voucher for supper at Harbour Lights. We went to the one in Douglas, and ate in lovely surroundings, with really good staff. I had gammon with pineapple, D-d had the fish of the day which was tilapia with chorizo butter, and we had a big dish of fresh vegetables between us.
I didn't think to get the camera out until our desserts arrived...
D-d chose chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream -

(She took the picture and is not quite as used to my camera as I am - so her pic is not quite in focus.)
I had lemon meringue pie - also with ice-cream -

And they tasted as good as they looked.
