You know what it's like - you wait for years for a Tolkien vocal post from me and then you get two in a week! Blame Bogwitch - she won't mind. She suggested I should read an Elven bit, and then it's Tolkien Reading Day, today and read_lotr_aloud suggested doing the readings aloud - with a tree theme...

So, this is from The Fellowship of the Ring, Lothlórien; it is towards the end of the chapter, when the Fellowship have their eyes uncovered, having been blindfolded for most of their way through the woods.
