Ah... Fandom.

This is a post in particular for fellow members of the Tolkienrim...

Please believe me when I tell you that the way in which the MEFAs imploded was generally polite, courteous, and almost entirely, although not completely, sane.

The way in which the two new awards sites are being developed, especially the ToMEs where I am most involved, is thoughtful, sensible, and again, almost totally polite and friendly.

HONESTLY!

Because in the Buffy Fandom at the moment it seems there are actually death-threats over a relationship between two characters... Yes - actual death-threats.

Although, on the plus side, they do have an all-penguin AU and an all-butterfly one is breaking out of its chrysalis even as I type...

And now... All Penguin AU Silmarillion!!!

stormwreath thought it was sad that there was no all-penguin AU in the Tolkien fandom, when I mentioned it.

And so he wrote comment-fic.

Then the Fëanor-penguin cried "KAAARK!". His seven chicks waddled straightway to his side and also said "KAAARK!" together, and red as blood shone their white bellies in the glare of the aurora australis. They swore an oath that no penguin shall break, and no penguin should take, by the name even of the Father of Penguins, calling the Dark Shoggoth upon them if they kept it not, vowing to waddle with vengeance and hatred to the ends of the Ocean after Penguin, Orca, Whale or Man as yet unborn, or any creature, fish or fowl, great or small that time should bring forth unto the end of days, whoso should hold or take or keep a herring from their possession.
