Mothering Sunday Greetings.
18 Mar 2012 08:21 pmI hope all the other Mums on my FList have had a good day - the Moms get theirs later!
D-d and I went up to my Mum's yesterday to shop and so on as usual - and D-d brought cakes she had made especially for us - sadly I realised, then, that I had forgotten my camera... but the lemon frangipans and the almond and cherry cupcakes were very, very yummy.
We had our Mothering Sunday service in church today - it was lovely - then we had a Mums' lunch out. D-d drove, so I could have a wee drink, and we picked Mum up. My sister and her daughters joined us, with Slighty-goth niece's boyfriend, his brother and their mother - and my brother-in-law, too, but S2C missed out as he was at work.
We had a leisurely meal at a country pub near Mum's - I'm still full.
And now I am sitting surrounded by the perfume of hyacinths -
Although you'll have to imagine the scent!
I got a card which Quinara and Bogwitch will both be pleased to see is not pink -
And a recipe inside for lemon drizzle cake.
I was given chocolates too, both from D-d and from church, but bestest of all - D-d has also given me the Domestic Sluttery book - Domestic Sluttery is one of my favourite websites, ever since Kortirion mentioned it some time ago, and I actually have it fed into my LJ - so it was well chosen not insulting. And an excellent book - totally recommend it!
