A Hobbit's Journal.
10 Feb 2011 07:39 pmOn our bookshelves for many years there has sat an empty book - a journal ready to be filled. It was a gift, to both of us I think, not very long after we got married. But somehow neither of us has ever been able to bring ourselves to write in it. And yet I take it off the shelves now and again and look at the unwritten pages slowly.
Why? Because it is an illustrated journal - each 'empty' page has a line drawing on a corner, or sometimes all the way up one side. The drawings are by Michael Green and, if I show you the front cover, you might understand why we have kept it, but felt we couldn't sully it with pen or pencil...

It occurred to me that I have LJ friends who might well enjoy looking inside - and so I have begun scanning some of the pages - the first few are here ( under the cut )
In other news, we are all shocked and saddened by the plane crash in Cork - as you might well have realised by the name (Manx2.com), the airline is based here. It was not a flight originating here, and the plane was one on charter, but we are all still very shocked.
