Husband Gardens!
28 Jun 2009 03:47 pmUnder the cut is a picture the like of which may never be seen again - S2C actually gardening!
In our tiny front patch we have a fuchsia which has completely taken over. D-d grew it as a cutting in a paper cup, when she was about 3, and in the intervening 18 years it has taken over the entire wee plot.
Our local council have been complaining about people letting plants over-hang the pavement - and this was certainly doing that - so I said that 'we'd better chop it back'. This usually means that I get out the hedge trimmer and do the cutting and gathering up - S2C's bit is to have the plug passed to him through the window.
But he actually said that if he was allowed to cut as much off it as he wanted he would cut it! 'Cut as much as you want - chop it all down totally if you can - feel free!' was my answer - although, to be honest, I'm not sure anything would actually kill it.
So he went out and set about it with the hedge trimmer, and has actually cut a lot off - he decided that, as it will be too much for the composting bin, he will leave all the cut stuff to dry in the front patch, and we can bin or compost when it is dried out a bit.
So - there is photographic evidence that S2C actually did some gardening ( under here )
Edited to add the after picture
