Of weather and weddings.
25 Oct 2008 01:44 pmI am going to a wedding this afternoon - and the weather is horrific. We have had gale force 9 weather over night and this morning; it has been so bad that all our ferry crossings have been cancelled, even the Ben who sails in most weathers. It is still a force 8 out there - so very high winds and rain still.
At least the good news is that the bride is unlikely to have a ten foot veil or train. The happy couple are our minister from church and his fiancée and, as he is coming up to retirement age and she is also semi-retired from teaching, I would guess the bride may be in something a little simpler than many.
I have re-thought what I'm wearing from a fairly light-weight dress and jacket to a heavier skirt and top, so hopefully I won't take off!
Poor S2C has to miss this do as he was at work last night, and will be back tonight to do the longest shift of the year as the clocks go back.
Still, I am going with my sister and her husband, and I will know a lot of the other guests, so I am looking forward to it.
