These pictures are dedicated as a birthday gift to my friend Kathleen -
pfeifferpack, who found yesterday’s to be a comfort in the midst of so much trauma on the news.
The pictures from New Orleans leave me mind-numbed – I do'nt think I have much right to comment on how things are or are not being manage in someone else’s country – but it is so difficult to comprehend how a country which is seen as the richest and most powerful on Earth cannot prevent such horrors following a predicted natural event.
I hope our island is better prepared for the possible nuclear disaster we have just over the water from us - but in all honesty we probably aren’t - a member of our govenment once said, when asked whether it would be a good idea to issue all households with iodine tablets just in case, that we'd all be fine if we just ate enough kippers!.
Anyway, to remind us all that not all the world is disaster torn here are a few scenic pictures from the coast of Western Australia -
