A few disjointed thoughts -firstly has it ever occured to you that the fanfic Work In Progress is in a fine old Victorian tradition? Dickens et al had most or all of their works published in episodes in literary magazines, and their readers got them a chapter a week, or a month. So you guys are the natural successors of Dickens, Conan Doyle etc. Bet that makes you feel good, eh?
Secondly, I saw a news item on local BBC about a move in Carlisle to have their Millenium Stone destroyed because it is thought by many to have brought Death and Destruction to the city - well Foot & Mouth, Flood, and the relegation of their football team anyway! Apparently having it blessed by the RC Bishop of Glasgow may be an acceptable substitute for destruction, at least for some! If you don't believe me

And finally - I have booked Daughter-dear's tickets for the Great Australian Adventure, so she is definitely going. At least she flies via Gatwick, which is the airport for flights between our Island and London, so no need to travel across London - this has got to be of the good. And how come that this summer, when she is spending all vac. in Aussie, her school is organizing trips to Greece and Germany (she does Classical Civilisation and German at A level), and the chance of taking part in the archaelogical dig at Rushen Abbey, about 5 miles from our house (Her number 1 subject is history)?
