Pic spam and film rec.

It has been a Bank Holiday here, and so, as a government employee, I have had the day off and, in my Mum's words, I had plans to break eggs with big sticks(!), but actually have done very little as the weather has been horrible - damp and grey and more like early March than early May
However, I did sit here quietly and watch The Hunt For Gollum - for those who haven't heard of it, this is a professional quality on-line film set in Middle Earth, based on the work of JRR Tolkien - and I would thoroughly recommend it. Wonderful stuff.
Now - pic spam - a mixture of garden and gorse, mainly!!
So - pictures of the garden taken in early April -

And the biggest flower in my garden in the week before Easter (and before I had finished doing much tidying!)

It is her favourite spot to revise, weather permitting.
Now - a few more pictures taken on Saturday, May 2nd, mainly to show the effect of the gorse being in flower.
These two are taken on the road to Mum's - sheep and cattle belong to Ballavair Farm -

And these were taken from the mountain Road, a couple of miles above Ramsey -

That one shows the view across the northern plain - and you can see the patchwork of yellow hedges clearly in the foreground.
This next one is just because I like it - the view down Glen Auldyn;

Finally, of this batch, just a small rivulet up in the hills, because I like the textures of the different grasses and the dormant heather -

To finish, to amuse you, this is what a middle-aged lady wombat looks like when she washes her hair, towels it, and forgets to comb it until it's dry...

I suppose the good news is that, apart from watching The Hunt For Gollum, as I didn't go out and do any of the things I was planning, I did write about 1,000 words of Brotherhood!
