I haven't posted a 'grateful list' for a while. So here are the things that I am currently grateful for -

1. Scottish Raspberries and English Strawberries are in season.

2. My plants appreciated all the recent rain, even if I wasn't so sure.

3. Crocs.

4. A husband who makes my computer do the things I want it too, and makes it look as it should after the cat changes things in passing!

5. My friend Ann's fiance survived his heart-attack to become her husband last month.

6. I'm going to meet my friend Alison, ex-flatmate from university days, when I go to York to pick up Daughter-dear at the end of this month.

7. Varifocal glasses.

8. The next Chapter of Access All Areas is almost ready to post.

9. [livejournal.com profile] its_monday.

10. All the wonderful story-tellers on my friends list.

This post? It made me smile, and grateful for so many things myself.

Great list. :-) I love #9, of course.

Thanks for the pimping last week, too.

(((((hugs))))

They are actually American, even though the link I gave was to a UK shop - it was the one I had bookmarked. They are very, very comfortable, and weigh next to nothing.

My friend [livejournal.com profile] beckyzoole posts one just before her Sabbath regularly, I thought it was a good idea, but I am much less organised about it!

My pleasure - I do think the community is helping me.

Thank you. It is a good idea to remind myself sometimes that there are a lot of good things around amongst the not-so-good.

Aren't they like what we used to call 'jellies' back in the 50s and 60s? They're great for protecting the feet when on the beach or in the sea/river/canal. Thanks for the link to the UK site, I might invest in a pair before returning to the boat

Thanks for the reminder to look at the good things regularly. I agree that the strawbs are fabulous this season, even the supermarkets are selling the 'proper' small variety of English ones. I've refrained from buying the raspberries, though, they're still a tad expensive here.

Scottish Raspberries and English Strawberries are in season.

Mmm...yes, we had some yesterday and they were delicious.

Varifocal glasses.

Yes, I ought to remember to be grateful for mine even when they make my eyes very tired!

Great list. And I'm way behind with Access All Areas and must try to catch up.

Wow! What a neat idea for a list :)
Many congratulations to the happy couple in #5!

They are incredibly light - I think they must be made from recycled polystyrene cups or something! They were designed for wearing as deck shoes in the first place - which is why they have the holes at insole level to let the water run back out again.

I would throughly recommend them - I wore mine much of the time I was off-duty last year.

These days crocs are a fashionable thing - but I got mine just before that - wombat the trend-setter!

You see a lot of children in them this summer, too.

Our co-op has been selling the Scottish Rasps on special offer - still not cheap, but a reasonable extravagance rather than something you feel you just can't bring yourself to pay!

It was on the BBC yesterday - and it was a well balanced programme, I think. I love some of the ariel shots where you can see how gren the place is, as well as just how fast they are travelling.

It was a bit touch and go for a while - they are both in their 50s and have been together for a long time - he had a severe heart-attack about 6 weeks before the wedding.

Lovely to see you around. :~)

I find the only trouble with the varifocals is that they make me feel slightly sea-sick when I go down staircases.

We are just putting the finishing touches to Chapter 13 of AAA - not an awful lot to catch up.... :~)

It's just nice to know that you have been reading it.

They really are.

Although the basic ones would not be good for shovelling snow in....

Please don't use the "S" word while I'm enjoying my summer.
