Decememe - three for the price of one....

I'm a bit behind. I should have posted 'something I was reading' on Sunday. Mainly I was reading Live Journal, Faerie, the local news, and re-reading 'Blameless' by Gail Carriger on my Kindle. But the kindle is currently in the car, and I was also reading this book;

Reading

On Sunday I also read the instructions Shirebound had found for me, explaining how to get the pictures from the internal memory of my camera onto the memory card - I followed them and it worked - I promise I'll post a couple of the Messy Church pictures later this week!

Oh - and D-d came around, we hauled out a lot of the decorations, and sorted out which were hers, and which others I could happily also let her have, so that she can decorate her flat. This resulted in me having boxes of decorations all over; in self-defence I have put a few of them up - starting with the Santas from the 'decoration' post. I was thinking of getting a more tasteful door wreath than my fibre-optic one - but D-d felt Christmas wouldn't be Christmas with out my gloriously naff door decoration - so it is also in place now!

Yesterday's subject was wrapping paper. I have quite a large stash of wrapping paper in an enormous bag - and took a picture - but it was boring. So I took one of the gift bags out and gave it a solo spot -

wrapping paper

I was given a Secret Santa present in it last year and love it so much I have not, yet, recycled it by giving it to someone else.

Last night there was an Elders meeting at church for about 2 hours where we met someone who may become our new minister. This was a first step - we will not know for some time whether minister and congregations (one minister looks after both the island's URC churches these days) suit each other - but this first meeting seemed to be pretty positive. I don't feel I can say much else just at the minute but we shall wait and see.

So I didn't put the wrapping paper to use - I was too busy!

And so to today - the subject is green - so here is a green tree from the Festival of Trees....

Festival of trees 4

Isn't that fun?

Also today I have made a large amount of dough for white chocolate and cranberry cookies and put it in the freezer until I need it, and have written The Christmas Letter. Now to write the cards to go with it... the card writing has slipped a bit over the past few days!

"Fluff up your Fairy" -- tee hee! Am I a bad person for thinking, despite how cute that bag is, of the concept of a "fluffer" in porn movies?

You are motivating me to go home and get started on my family's traditional Christmas cookies.

I rather think that double entendre was very much in the mind of the designer - especially as 'fairy' is often used as a delicate euphemism for the vulva!

As for the Christmas baking; I find, if I make the dough and freeze it, the actual baking seems so much less of a chore and more of a pleasure as it is less rushed.

Love the gift bag. And cranberry cookies? Oh...those sound SO good!

Isn't that bag cute? And the cookies are one of my Mum's recipes - she never believed in recipes with a long list of ingredients if a short list would do, so the recipe has five ingredients and a note going 'add whatever you like' - and for years I have added white chocolate and cranberries for friends at Christmas - there may be double chocolate ones, too.

I love that gift bag! I'd probably keep it around for a while too.

The gift inside was nice - but the bag was best!

I did make a start with the ones to go abroad - but still haven't posted them...

I have bags that I can't bear to part with, so I use them for gifts for my daughter or hubby, so they stay in the house!

I think the fairy might get recycled to D-d!

Heh... I just finished reading Coffee With Oscar Wilde. Same series I wonder? :)

Oh - it sounds like it! I must look for it as my daughter is an Oscar Wilde fan.

Love your fairy gift bag. I'm not doing well at all with card writing, though did get the overseas ones done ready to post at work today - then forgot to take them with me!

That is the exact point I am at, too - right down to forgetting to take them to work today!
