S2C's birthday

Just come in from an excellent Chinese meal eaten to celebrate S2C's birthday. We used to go to a Chinese restaurant called the Water Margin, but it closed about a year ago. Tonight we went to the new one which has opened in the old building - new name, new décor, new menu - and it is even better than the old version - very, very good. He says the sea-bass with ginger and spring onion is one of the nicest things he has ever eaten.

And those of you who are fans of his writing will be pleased to hear that his gift from me was a new ergonomic keyboard, as the old one died a few months ago and he has been using a bog-standard one. The new one seems to be a hit and he reckons he can type faster, for longer, with it and so can get chapters done more quickly....

D-d bought him tickets to go to see Milton Jones in a couple of weeks time - I'm pretty sure he would reckon it a good birthday. Oh - and these was cake...

I've never been in a Chinese place that served sea bass! YUM!

He said it was excellent - certainly something to look out for.

The original restaurant in that building used to be a favourite 'celebration' place and so it is really good that the new one is even better.

You're right - a new, good, restaurant is cause for rejoicing! We will most certainly go back to the Majestic.
