Snow!

We had snow today! The temperature was down to 0.5C and it snowed for a couple of hours. It even stuck on the hills. In October.

Perhaps we really are going to get a good, cold, winter. There again it might be the only snow we get this winter at all...

We had hail - and still haven't got my central heating back!

Wow. Snow already, huh? We're not quite there yet, but there are rumors of freezing rain in the future...

We're supposed to have a frost tonight and it's pretty nippy indoors, too! My son is whinging that I won't put the heating on before November I just tell him put another jumper on. :)

It's amazing how far down the country the snow has fallen - even [livejournal.com profile] spikereader near Milton Keynes has had some! We had a very thick frost this morning, but it was much warmer during the day because the sun was shining brightly. Chilly now though.

Keep warm!

We had flurries yesterday although it's supposed to be about 60 degrees by Friday.

It snowed here (and settled) too. So much for global warming, I think it's back to the next ice-age cometh predictions of the 1960s.

It's snowing in Reading right now - and has been for several hours. Too wet to settle though, since it was raining for many hours before that.

Odd, I call it.

It's sunny and 64f/17.7c here today; the last time we had weather like this the last week of October we had snow Nov. 1st (which stuck for a day and then was rained away) and then were snowed in between Christmas and New Years. I am trying not to brag or gloat about worrying about sunburn and picking raspberries, because it would goeth before a snowfall.

Julia, on the other hand, I'm finally almost caught up on the laundryt backlog of towels and jeans from a rainy summer.

Wow-- snow already? We've had some in the mountains, but it hasn't really stuck yet. I went for a long walk on the waterfront; it was 50 degrees!

eta for typo...

We went from 27° to 57°, and it was sunny and beautiful. I'm glad you had snow, but I'm willing to wait a couple of months. Oh, that is wishful thinking!

Why does everyone keep using the S word? Can't we all get along without the foul language?

:-)

Hee! I was a teenager in the 80s, and I never looked like that. In all fairness my sister aspired to looking like that however!
