The paviours do look very nice indeed, and much easier to maintain than grass or garden. I do think a couple more pots would add interest. Perhaps something colourful that is easy to grow.
I love your pic of the ferry coming in. Hobart is the same; hills running down to the waterfront, and wharves at the bottom.
