Nor did anyone, least of all herself, try to propel her into Legolas' path - if anything various people, including the two of them at one point, were actively attempting the opposite, until the Powers took a hand. That's my defence, anyway, m'lud, and I'm sticking to it. (I did know when I embarked on the thing that it was an unlikely premise. That was part of the challenge. Unless I'm just a fic-masochist...)
