365 Week 16.

It has not been a very exciting week - life has proceeded (In the Terry Prachett sense of moving slowly and purposefully!)
The island wildflowers are mostly purple by now - I could probably have taken 7 different pictures of purple flowers - but I didn't!
So -
Monday - A short walk from my office is Glen Falcon - I have no idea why it is called Glen Falcon, and it is just a small wild space below the level of the road, with a trim lawned area at the upper end to sit on and picnic - this is a picture of the lower, wilder, bit - you can see how close it is to a fairly ordinary road - just a small green space -

Tuesday - I am really not sure what this vessel is, but when I saw it out in Ramsey bay it caught my eye -

Wednesday. It rained. A lot. This is the view from my office window of the carpark behind the building -

Thurday - went to visit Mum at the end of work, she is doing well, and is getting about pretty well. This is her constant companion - a real lap-dog! Willow -

Friday - I gave in and took a picture of a purple wild flower - this foxglove grows in the hedge beside where I park my car for work!

Saturday - went to visit Mum and do her shopping. She decided that she was well enough to go to the tea-rooms in the village, and was greeted like visiting Royalty as they knew she had been in hospital. I had really good tomato and lentil soup with bonnag (Manx soda bread) - but forgot about taking a picture until I had almost finished. So this is a picture of the rather scrumptious lemon cake I had for afters!

(Mum's strawberry cheesecake is in the background...)
And finally today - Sunday. I was on call for work - a number of us are on call to go and swab people with suspected H1N1 swine-flu. So, this picture is taken at 5 to 6 when I was just preparing to celebrate my on-call period ending and me not having been called out today!

I spent a while on the phone to Daughter-dear - she is getting just a little nervous about going, tomorrow, to Leeds to have the laser eye surgery she wanted for her 21st birthday so that she can do without her contact lenses. I think I might feel a little nervous too - even though she had been planning this day since she was 16. But I am sure it will go well. I think I might be offering up a few heartfelt prayers during the afternoon, though....
