I've just received an e-mail from D-d telling us that she is going to be on Radio 1 about 6.55pm this evening because they will ring her up and talk to her before she requests a track - how exciting!
She made it onto the show as the very last person. 3 minutes talking about where she was(York), what she was doing (Drinking Pimms and having a BBQ), whether she was going to watch the football (England v Estonia - and maybe), and the fact that she supports Newcastle United (see icon - it's a family thing!).
And she chose her 'happy song' - a track by The Holloways, the title of which I didn't catch, but will find out later!
I heard... she sounded great, definitely like she was having fun! And very articulate - I hate when people phone up and just giggle all the time :-) Made me very jealous... York is a fabulous place to be in the summer term!!
She was - she managed to be pretty articulate for the three minutes or so she was on air. (Radio One is one of the really big UK-wide stations - it is the BBC stationed for young people.)
Radio 1 is one of the big UK wide stations run by the BBC - the one aimed at teens and twenty-somethings.
She made it onto the show as the very last person and had about 3 minutes talking about where she was(York), what she was doing (Drinking Pimms and having a BBQ), some chat about their BBQ, whether she was going to watch the England v Estonia football match (maybe), and the fact that she supports Newcastle United and so hadn't had the best of football seasons last season.
She was articulate and sounded happy - all in all a successful appearence!
Fine - we thought she wasn't going to get on after all, as he seemed to be winding up, but then he went 'over to York for one more request' and she got her three minutes of fame!
